"LINEA TERRA ACQUA IIINSTALLATION" Proposta: To submit a project proposal for a competition. Materiais: Metal/iron rods/cords, twine, pottery clay, Kiln Sinopse: This project will be an interactive installation that involves sound and nature. It will be located in the Bernini Buri natural park and exhibited in the month of May.The theme of the installation is based upon ideas of suspension, interaction, connection, and domino effects. With a purpose to engage the viewer, the project will invite people to touch it, listen to it, and follow it. I would like to create a work of art that doesn’t disrupt the existing nature, but to create an intriguing environment alongside it.The installation will be site specific, meaning it will be designed to a specific location. The location requires trees and ideally a type of path with running water, such as a stream or river. The project itself will be made up of two main components: iron rods or cords (that will be suspended between the trees), and various ceramic bells (suspended from the rods/cords). The ceramic bells will be made by hand and include several different sizes to create different musical tones. The amount of bells that will be used is estimated to be over 50.
"STRUMENTO MUSICALEOGGETTO"
Proposta: To submit a project proposal for a competition. Materiais: Iron rods (to create the stands), twine/rope/cord (to suspend the bells), Pottery Clay, Kiln Sinopse: This project will be an interactive object that produces sound when played. Its purpose is to be played by other musicians in various locations (either the Conservatory of Music, or the Academy). It will be finalised in the month of May, 2018.The concept of this object is based upon ideas of suspension, interaction, connection, and domino effects. It is meant to be touched and played by the viewer, creating sound and movement. By disturbing the first bells, the observer sets off a reaction, causing the bells to knock into each other, therefore engaging the rest of the objects. The object is made up of two small iron stands (side by side) with the attached bells at different heights. Note that the stands are separate and come in two different parts. The bells will be made from ceramic clay by hand and include several different shapes and sizes.
"CLOUD : CONTINUATION"
Proposta: Create or continue a personal project Materiais: PET plastic, nylon string, heat gun Sinopse: This project was a continuation of a previous personal piece from 2017: "Letting Go". The project was realised in the Accademia di Belle Arti, Verona, Italy and was presented at the end of the semester in June 2018.Based upon a previous piece, this installation continues themes of expansion, suspension, light, depth, and clarity. The goal was to continue an exploration in the properties of plastic and its interactions with light. The installation is made up of multiple suspended pieces of plastic that when hung all together, appear to be weightless. This weightlessness is a specific quality of the piece, hence the name: Cloud : Continuation. The installation is mobile and adjustable, meaning it is able to fit into many different spaces. It is easy to assemble and disassemble. This adaptability creates change and movement, meaning repetition of the exact installation is never possible. Light also plays an important role in the aesthetic of the installation. Ideally it requires natural light with direct sun, allowing rays to pass through the plastic creating different dimensions in the piece. The materials of the project include several melted/deformed pieces of PET plastic and nylon string. The materials are purposely minimal for a more uniform effect.
